Dude,welcome to the 60's!

Think of Zac Efron as "Link Larkin" from the musical film,HAIRSPRAY.The luxurious tux, rolled up slacks, tucked in polo shirt, suspenders, bow tie,the suave hair cut and the winkle pecker vintage shoes exposing a little bit skin through the ankle. It was an era of handsome gentlemen, decent and dapper in the art of dressing up.Now,1960's men's wear fashion is a fad in the Metro Bacolod area popularized by dapper trend setters. This style is also interpreted by Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass, the resident bad boy in the TV hit series,Gossip Girl. The 1960's style is appropriate for real men who are rich, famous and very classy.A trend of luxury and magnificence with the touch of George Peppard,Elvis Presley and the beatles.Best stores to find these stuffs are the surplus stores in downtown Araneta street and San Juan street just beside the Plaza Mart.Prices are very affordable and surely your 200php budget can fit a head to toe outfit.Vint pieces are making a huge comeback this year and wear this trend in your school's civilian day, night out, cocktail parties and other social gatherings. It looks like your wearing the likes of 1960's old Hollywood glamor personalities.Mix and match your outfit with a modern touch of 21st century fashion.

"Fashion is not something that exist in dresses only.Fashion is in the sky,in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening" -Gabrielle Coco Chanel

The ideas of hip hop fashion dates back during the 1980's when sportswear fashion became a fad among trend setters. They explored something to mix and match their sportswear outfits including the gangster flat top cap,the chain blings,high-cut shoes, baggy pants and graphic tees. The modern trend scattered in all parts of the globe including in Korea, wherein they have their own version of hip hop urban fashion called, k-pop or the korean gangsta and locally, here in the Philippines, we have our jejemon fashion which others believe only exists in text messaging style but it's also in fashion. Originally, the hip hop urbanite fashion was derived in New York city by the street thugs community in Bronx and later on it spread like a flu in Eastern countries like in South Korea,Japan,People's Republic of China and the Philippines. It's like a blending of two cultures, the western style and the eastern style and the given countries made their own interpretations of the trend.
In Metro Bacolod, young guys are so obsessed of the supra domination.Majority of it's patronizers are the teenage guys in their Secondary and Tertiary Education years who are an avid fan of hip hop and RnB Music.Supra shoes are first sighted in Justin Bieber when he wore this to his music videos like Never say never,Baby and Eenie Meenie with Sean Kingston. The Supra domination in Metro Bacolod, because of the so-called,Bieber Fever, teenage boys in the city are setting the hip hop urbanite trend which is labelled as cool, rugged and casual. The best thing to work with this trend is to wear a fit(not too fit) tank either graphic art or a checkered short sleeve polo, pair with skinny jeans(not too skinny) either in acid wash or coated and pile up with accessories like blings, chains, dog tags, rubber ballers and jejemon cap/gangsta cap.Don't forget the supra shoes, which is the highlight of the whole package. This trend is appropriate for lean boys only. This will emphasize their legs because of the skinny jeans and tiny feet looks bigger because of the hugeness of supra shoes.Think of Jason Derulo,Justin Bieber,Kardinal Official,Iyaz,Eminem and Wiz Khalifa as the hip hop urbanite style icons.

Take it to the streets fashion portfolio

It's a male style domination in the urban area that i noticed plenty of guys are still looking good and fashionable despite of ordinary days.It was wednesday when I walked around the downtown area going to SM City-Bacolod when I met stylish passersby. At the first place,I don't have a difficulty in approaching them to take their pictures with their dashing outfit because I'm already confident. They thought I was one of the Fashion editors of the biggest men's fashion mag in the country, but it isn't so.I told them I was a newbie fashion blogger who's advocating fashion awareness for real men.I photographed these handsome dudes via my Windows mobile originally from States and exactly when I uploaded the images in our computer,it looks like it's captured from a professional fashion photographer's camera Nikon D40 or Canon 350D,but certainly it's not.Just a simple camera phone.

Real Guy's Fashion Love Affair

In this post-modern society, men are liberal thinkers and getting out of their comfort zone.We are so creative in thinking of any ideas to come up with our certain style.A style either to impress our inner critic or a style to impress other people. It's up for us to choose our own side.Other says, impressing other chicas is no longer necessary because other guys already have a girlfriend. This school of thought sounds backward due to the fact that dressing up is not just a manner of impressing for the girls, but for other people as well. They can be our family, friends, proffesors, boss and even our followers.Hence, dressing up so stylish is for everybody.
If you are dressing up,you are also making love with the clothes you wear and the trend that your carrying on the street. What gives us happiness the most is,if we love and like what we are wearing. If we do,then it sets our mood for the day and the way we deal with different people we meet everyday.
We got to be real!I hate it when other people perceive that being so lavishly stylish are only appropriate for gay men who loves playing colors and mixing-matching their outfit. This is so wrong. Here,in Bacolod City,an urbanized metro in the Negros island of the Philippines, the straight guys, there are some who are stylish in the art of dressing up and there are some who only traditionally wears a simple t-shirt,simple jeans and the rugged rubber shoes-which is so dull and boring.Straight men in the city are now stylish. Therefore,as I was strolling around the metropolitan city,it came to my mind that maybe i should think of my own little way to increase awareness of fashion literacy for the modern guys in the city.I'm thinking of a dandy man-a man who is intellectually brilliant, who has nice speech,an eloquent speaker, concerned about their looks and very fashionable.Modern guys are expected to be stylish because it speaks about liberalism and being open-minded.
